Several years ago, I fielded Borkedcode with the intent that it would end up as something of a social operation where people could showcase the big mistakes in coding that they ran across while working or enjoying the hobby of writing software. Particularly mistakes we make ourselves.
Times change, and since then I have moved into management of software development and companies that do the same, and all the while the site just languished, waiting for something to happen. In 2007, it did – I got moved to Bulgaria as a fast rescue operation for a hosting company that had had some extreme problems with its web design staff. I was way off a regular clock cycle, and had very few people to talk to, so I took to writing up a travel journal.
I probably still have those pages somewhere in my background, but I’ll be damned if I can figure out where…but I still live overseas, and as time has progressed I’ve found I enjoy writing. So…here it is. Borkedcode may one day rise to its original intent, but for now it’s just going to be a place where I do exactly what the tagline says – write about random thoughts as I wander around. Hopefully you’ll like some of it ).
Anyhow, enjoy, and let me know what you think in the comments!
